Kangaroo Valley pavilion

Highlands GeoExchange installed a geothermal heat pump system to provide heating, cooling, domestic hot water and pool heating for a new extension to the existing home at Kangaroo Valley. The system incorporates topping slab floor heating and cooling via individual fan coil units in each room. A wine cellar is also chilled to a constant 16°C. The existing floor heating was disconnected from LPG and linked to the geothermal system. The client also added a 27kW solar system with 50kW battery storage and back-up generator.

System features

  • 2 x 17kW ground source heat pumps
  • Vertical ground loop under house – 5 x 105 metre boreholes
  • 2 x 400 litre buffer tanks
  • Domestic heat exchange tank – 400 litre.
